Terms of Service
Last updated August 26, 2026.
Read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. Your access to and use of pageinspection.com (the "Site"), the application at app.pageinspection.com, and our website auditing and crawling services (collectively, the "Services") is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. If you do not agree to all of them, do not use the Services.
These Terms form an agreement ("Agreement") between PageInspection ("PageInspection," "Provider," "we," "us," or "our") and you ("Customer" or "you"). Each is a "Party" and together the "Parties."
We may update these Terms periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date, and where changes materially affect your rights we may notify you by email or in the application. Continuing to use the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
What the Services Do
PageInspection crawls websites and runs automated technical checks covering classic SEO, answer engine optimization (AEO), and generative engine optimization (GEO). It returns findings, metrics, an internal link graph, and exportable fix prompts and briefs.
The Services operate in two modes, and the distinction matters throughout these Terms:
Single-page audit. You submit one URL. We fetch that page, evaluate it, and return findings. No links are followed. This mode does not require domain verification.
Full-site crawl. We follow internal links across a domain and audit the pages we reach, up to your account's page limit. This mode requires verified ownership of the domain, as described below.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into this Agreement. If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and "you" refers to that organization.
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current account information and to keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts with information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. We are not liable for loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
You may not sell, transfer, or assign your account without our prior written consent.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or refuse service at our discretion, including to prevent misuse, investigate a violation, or protect the Services.
Domain Ownership Verification
Before we will run a full-site crawl, you must prove that you control the domain.
We generate a verification token unique to your account and the domain. You publish it on the domain using the method we specify, currently a meta tag we generate, placed in the head of that domain's home page. Our system then fetches that page and confirms the tag matches. Only after a successful match will a crawl run. We may add or change verification methods, and the application tells you what a domain requires at the point you verify it.
By requesting verification and running crawls, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the domain, or you are acting with the express authorization of the person or entity that does;
- You have authority to permit automated crawling of the site and to receive the audit data it produces;
- You have any consent or authorization required from your own client, employer, or hosting provider;
- You will remove the verification tag, and the domain from your account, when you no longer hold that authority.
We may re-check verification at any time, including when a crawl is requested. If the tag is missing, altered, or no longer matches, the domain fails the check and we will not crawl it. You can remove a verified domain from your account at any time, which ends its verification. If you are a site owner who wants crawling of your domain stopped, remove the tag and write to us at pageinspections@gmail.com, and we will revoke the verification held against it.
You agree not to attempt to defeat, forge, or work around verification, including by exploiting shared hosting, subdomain takeover, expired domains, misconfigured DNS, or any other means of publishing a token on a domain you do not legitimately control. Doing so is a material breach and grounds for immediate termination.
Verification confirms control for the purpose of authorizing a crawl. It does not transfer any right in your site to us, and it does not make us responsible for your site's configuration, content, or availability.
Acceptable Use of the Crawler
Our crawler makes real HTTP requests to real servers. Misused, it is a tool for generating load. You agree to the following.
You will not:
- Point the Services at any site, host, or endpoint that you do not own or are not authorized to audit, other than through the single-page audit feature used lawfully;
- Use the Services to generate load against a site for the purpose of degrading, disrupting, testing the resilience of, or denying service to it, or to contribute to any denial-of-service activity;
- Attempt to access, audit, or crawl content behind authentication, a paywall, or any access control, or use the Services with credentials, cookies, tokens, or session data you are not authorized to use;
- Use the Services to bypass, probe, or map security controls, or as part of unauthorized security testing or reconnaissance of a third party;
- Configure crawl depth, concurrency, or frequency in a manner intended to place disproportionate load on a target server, or repeatedly re-run crawls for that purpose;
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent free-tier allowances, rate limits, or page caps, including by creating multiple accounts, sharing an account among multiple people, rotating IP addresses, or automating the anonymous search feature;
- Use the Services to harvest, compile, resell, or redistribute contact details, personal data, or content extracted from sites you do not control;
- Scrape, automate, or programmatically access our own Site or application other than through an interface we provide for that purpose;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Services;
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Services, or resell or white-label the Services without our written consent;
- Interfere with the integrity, performance, or security of the Services, or attempt unauthorized access to our systems or infrastructure;
- Use the Services in violation of any applicable law, or in violation of the terms, robots directives, or acceptable use policies of any site you audit.
We may monitor use of the crawler and may throttle, suspend, or terminate access without notice where we believe use is abusive, unlawful, or a risk to third parties or to our infrastructure. Because crawler abuse can cause immediate harm to third parties, we may act on suspicion without prior notice or a cure period.
If you audit a third-party URL using the single-page feature, you do so on your own responsibility. That feature exists so you can inspect a page the way a search engine or any visitor would. It is not a licence to disregard the target site's terms or applicable law, and you are solely responsible for your use of it.
Your Data and Our Use of It
You retain all rights in your site, your content, and the audit results generated for you ("Customer Data").
We access and process Customer Data only to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Customer Data. We do not use your crawl results or the technical content extracted from your pages to train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models.
We do not retain copies of the pages we crawl. Our crawler evaluates a page in memory and stores the findings and technical elements a check requires, not the page itself.
You may delete individual audits and crawls, remove verified domains, and close your account at any time. Deletion and retention are governed by our Privacy Policy.
Findings, Fix Prompts, and Your Reliance on Them
This section is important. Please read it.
The Services produce automated findings and generate fix prompts and briefs intended for use with AI coding assistants and other tools. These are informational suggestions produced by automated checks. They are not professional advice, and they are not guaranteed to be correct, complete, applicable to your situation, or safe to apply.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You must review any output before acting on it. Fix prompts are text you may choose to feed to a coding agent that can modify your codebase. You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and approving any change before it reaches your site, and for maintaining backups and version control.
- We are not responsible for any consequence of applying a suggested fix, including broken pages, lost content, deployment failures, regressions, downtime, loss of rankings, loss of traffic, or loss of revenue.
- Automated checks can produce false positives and false negatives. A passing audit is not a warranty that your site is correctly configured, compliant, secure, or accessible. A failing check is not necessarily an error you must fix.
- We make no representation or warranty about search or AI visibility outcomes. Nothing in the Services guarantees improved rankings, inclusion in AI answers, citation by any answer engine, traffic, conversions, or revenue. Search engines and AI systems change their behavior independently of us and without notice.
- Checks relating to emerging standards, including llms.txt and AI crawler directives, reflect our reading of practices that are unsettled and evolving. They may change or cease to be relevant.
- Third-party metrics we surface, including Core Web Vitals data obtained from Google PageSpeed Insights, are provided by that third party. We do not control and do not warrant their accuracy or availability.
Free Tier, Allowances, and Paid Plans
We offer anonymous single-page searches without an account, subject to a rate limit, and a free account tier with a published allowance of single-page audits and full-site crawls that renews on a rolling basis.
An allowance is permission to run a crawl, not permission to crawl a particular site. On every tier, a full-site crawl runs only against a domain verified on your account.
Allowances, page caps, and rate limits are as published on our pricing page and may change. Where a change reduces an allowance materially, we will give reasonable notice. Allowances are per account and are not transferable, poolable, or refundable, and unused allowance does not carry over.
Larger allowances and higher page caps are currently arranged directly with us rather than sold as a self-serve tier. Where you arrange a paid allowance:
- Fees, scope, and term are as agreed in writing between us, including by email.
- Fees are payable in advance in the currency stated, are exclusive of taxes, and are non-refundable except as required by law or as expressly agreed.
- You are responsible for applicable taxes other than taxes on our income.
- Where a recurring arrangement is agreed, it renews as stated until cancelled, and you authorize charges for each renewal period.
- Non-payment may result in restriction, suspension, or termination of access, and we may reduce your account to the free tier.
We may introduce, change, or withdraw paid plans and pricing. Changes will not retroactively alter fees for a period you have already paid.
We may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including for availability problems, pricing or description errors, errors in your order, or suspected fraudulent, unauthorized, or unlawful transactions.
Intellectual Property
The Services, including all software, checks, scoring logic, report structure, prompt templates, design, text, graphics, and logos (excluding Customer Data), are and remain our exclusive property and that of our licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable law.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
Audit reports and exports generated for your own sites are yours to use for any lawful purpose, including sharing with clients and colleagues. You may not resell, redistribute, or present the Services themselves as your own product, or remove or obscure attribution where it appears in exports, without our written consent.
Our name, logo, and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them to improve the Services, with no obligation to you.
Service Changes and Availability
The Services are under active development. You acknowledge that:
- Checks may be added, changed, re-weighted, or removed, and results for the same site may therefore differ between runs;
- Features may change or be discontinued;
- The Services may be unavailable or interrupted, including for maintenance or for reasons outside our control;
- Crawls may fail, stall, or return incomplete results, including because of target-site behavior, rate limiting, robots directives, network conditions, or third-party API availability;
- You should not treat the Services as your sole or authoritative record of your site's condition.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. If we discontinue the Services entirely, we will give reasonable advance notice and, where technically feasible, a means of exporting your data.
Third-Party Services
We rely on third parties to operate the Services, including cloud infrastructure, Google PageSpeed Insights for performance data, transactional email, monitoring, and payment processing where applicable.
Your use of third-party services accessed through or alongside the Services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their accuracy, or disputes involving them. We encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies.
Termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your account and access at our discretion if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we consider unacceptable. Except where immediate action is warranted, we will give you 7 days' written notice and an opportunity to cure. Immediate suspension without notice is permitted for suspected crawler abuse, unauthorized crawling, attempts to defeat verification, denial-of-service activity, unlawful conduct, non-payment, or where necessary to protect the Services, other users, or any third party.
On termination, your right to use the Services ends, verified domains are released, and your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Where termination results from your breach, you are not entitled to a refund.
Provisions that by their nature survive termination remain in effect, including intellectual property rights, the feedback licence, accrued payment obligations, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PageInspection and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claim, damage, loss, liability, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Services, including by anyone using your account;
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your crawling or auditing of any site you were not authorized to crawl or audit, and any claim by a site owner, host, or third party arising from it;
- Any load, disruption, or cost you cause to a third-party server through your use of the crawler;
- Your application of any fix prompt, brief, or finding to your own or a third party's site;
- Any claim by a client of yours, or by any individual whose personal data appeared on a site you audited.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and course of performance.
We do not warrant that:
- The Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or available at any particular time or place;
- Any defect will be corrected;
- Findings will be accurate, complete, or free from false positives or false negatives;
- A crawl will reach every page of a site, or that results are exhaustive;
- Applying any suggested fix will produce any particular result;
- Use of the Services will improve your rankings, AI visibility, traffic, or revenue;
- The Services are free of viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
In plain terms: if the Services cause you a business loss (a bad suggestion, a missed issue, downtime, lost rankings or traffic), we are not responsible for that loss, and the most we would ever owe you is what you have paid us in the last twelve months, or USD $100, whichever is greater. The full legal wording follows.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall PageInspection or its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, business opportunity, search rankings, traffic, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to: (i) your access to, use of, or inability to use the Services; (ii) any finding, metric, fix prompt, brief, or other output of the Services, including any error, omission, false positive, or false negative in it; (iii) any change you make to your site in reliance on the Services; (iv) any conduct or content of any third party, including any site you audit or any third-party API we rely on; (v) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; or (vi) any interruption, delay, failure, or incompleteness of a crawl, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set out here is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you actually paid us for the Services in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US Dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PageInspection is established and from which it operates the Services, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, save that we may apply to any court of competent jurisdiction for injunctive relief to stop abuse of the crawler or to protect a third party from it.
Nothing in this section removes any protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country in which you live, or any right that law gives you to bring proceedings there. Where the operating entity is established in a jurisdiction we have not yet named here, we will name it expressly in these Terms and notify the change in accordance with the Changes section below.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect and the invalid provision will be applied to the maximum extent permissible. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreement on that subject.
We make no representation that the Services are appropriate or available for use in any particular location. You are responsible for compliance with local law where you use them.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify or replace these Terms at any time at our discretion. Changes take effect when posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the Services after that constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, stop using the Services and close your account.
